Our Rule Book
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- TOTAL 8 TEAMS ONLY WILL PARTICIPATE
- WILL BE DIVIDED INTO 2 GROUPS
- EACH TEAM WILL GET 3 LEAGUE MATCHES TO PLAY
- THE TOP 2 TEAMS FROM EACH GROUP WILL QUALIFY TO SEMIFINALS
- THIS TOURNAMENT WOULD BE PLAYED WITH RED NIVIA TENNIS BALL
- EACH INNINGS WOULD START WITH A NEW BALL
A. In case a ball is being lost or broken before 4 overs of an innings then new ball would be issued.
B. If lost or broken after 4 overs of an innings, old ball (used) would be issued.
POWER PLAY
- First 6 overs are power play
- Only 2 players can field outside of the 30-yard circle during power play overs
- During the non-power play overs maximum of 5 fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle. Failure to do so during a delivery of a ball would be called as a “NO BALL” by the umpire
INNINGS / MATCH DURATION
- First innings: Approximately 1.5 hours (75–90 minutes)
- Innings break: Around 10 minutes, when teams review tactics and the pitch may be prepared
- Second innings: Approximately 1.5 hours (75–90 minutes)
- Total duration: 3 hours including the intervals
- Team reporting: Teams must be presented 60 minutes before the match
- Delay penalty: A delay more than 10 minutes may lead to an award of a walkover to the opposing team
- On-field umpire’s decision would be the final one
- It is captain’s responsibility to uphold spirit of the game by his team.
- Any prolonged arguments by a team would yield a walkover to the opposition team (based on the decision by umpires and organizers).
- If any team walks out of the ground on protest during playtime, the team will be disqualified from the tournament.
- If any team misbehaves or abuses the umpires inside the field or outside the field during the match, the team will be disqualified from the tournament.
- If a tie happens in the matches, super over would be held.
INNINGS / MATCH DURATION
- A. The team batting second in the match will bat first in the super over.
- B. 3 batsmen from each team can bat and 1 bowler from each team will bowl.
- C. Entire fielding unit is allowed to field.
- D. However, in case of super over is tied, will decide as per IPL rules.
- If a match is stopped due to rain, then match would be reduced as per IPL rules.
- In the event of bad or inclement weather or other unavoidable circumstances, the tournament committee reserve the right to mop up the pitch during the course of the match in order to facilitate play in consultation with the umpires.
- The tournament committee reserve the rights to alter the time, date and venue of the match in special condition.
BATSMAN RULES
- LBW is not applicable for this tournament. (Leg byes are applicable).
- All NO BALLS (as per ICC rules: frontfoot, sideline, above the waist, fielding restrictions etc) result in a free hit in the next delivery, where field can change only if batsman strikes changed.
- All the other ICC cricket rules are applicable as it is.
BOWLING RULES
- 20 overs match → 4-4-4-4-4 (max overs by a bowler)
- One bouncer is allowed per over, provided the ball pass between the shoulder and the head. However, the ball passing over the head will be declared as a wide.
- Free hit is allowed for all NO BALLS.
- In case if a bowler chucks during his action of bowling, umpire have direct rights to warn the bowler and if the bowler continues the same, the bowler can’t bowl the entire tournament.
- All the ICC rules are applicable as it is.
AUCTION BIDDING RULES
- Starting bid will be Rs 10,000 for each team; after every call, 500 Rs will be increased.
- Only 1 player can be retained by each team; if the franchise (owner) wants to play, it means he can play as a retained player.
- Each team must take 15 players, including the owner (if he is interested to play); do not exceed 15.
- After the team auction, whoever had taken the team has to pay the bid amount to management within a week.
- Franchise (owners) must follow the rules and regulations that are given by management (e.g., match timings, unwanted arguments).
- The starting bid will be 500 Rs.
- Kindly, you have to keep 500 Rs for each player. Example: Finally, you will need 3 players, which means you have only a balance of 5000. In that time, you can use 4000 Rs for one player; the other two players will each get 500.
DRESS CODE
- Management will provide the T-shirt and track pants for all teams.
- All players have to wear the shoes compulsorily; if anyone is playing a match without shoes, 10 runs will be reduced from their score.
- If we find a dress code mismatch, 10 runs reduced will be from their score.
WHEN A RUNNER IS ALLOWED
- If a batsman is experiencing discomfort and is not able to run efficiently, a runner can be appointed based on the opposition captain permission.
